multichannel integration and synergies between different channels of communication and distribution : concepts are now widely shared and entered fully into the corporate marketing strategies.
But how they evolved in 'was 2.0 ? are still valid? the company is actually deciding on strategies to adopt, or the power to decide how to move between different channels is mainly in the hands of the customer? Who is the real star of the marketing strategies? and what are the tools you use?
order to use the new features offered by Microsoft, users will be holding a Live account, which is essential to access most of the online services offered by software giants. Once installed, the plugin provides searching of contacts available for each account, providing the ability to select the number of friends to be invited to the session of collaborative research. Using the "Search" to Internet Explorer, each user has the opportunity to instantly share the results of their search with accounts invited to the session. Searches are then stored by the plugin, which can thus provide a history of visited pages on a deferred basis, for members of the research team if absent. All users also have the opportunity to write comments on the quality Web pages visited, small reviews are subject to a simple voting system (Digg-style) by other users. Except for possible changes, SearchTogether should be available for download during the late spring of 2008.
During the appointment of TechFest, the head of the Microsoft Research presented two other projects aimed at improving the quality of online searches for users. It is being developed CoSearch the application, a new collaborative research focused on the research group through a single personal computer : a very promising prototype, which could find numerous uses in particular in education, allowing a sort of brainstorming extended to the Internet [pdf ]. In addition to CoSearch, Microsoft Research presented another interesting prototype for online searches: Searchbar . The new service applies the principle of operating history, Web sites visited, the results of research carried out online. Through a tree, Searchbar stores the results of any search for topics by dividing them on the user's indication . The system will also store the pages to visit, allowing the user to perform very complex and extensive research without fear of losing any results of each stage of research.
While the release period for SearchTogether is certain now, Microsoft has not provided a specific timetable for the introduction of CoSearch and searchbar.
Google has been asked not to be published in Google Earth too detailed images of U.S. military bases. The request, directly from the game Pentagon, seeking to ensure safety at the military junta is following the viewing of images considered too close to the base Fort Sam Houston in Texas.
General Gene Renuart , head of U.S. Northern Command, has shown concern at the level of detail with which the service Street View allows you to see the base in question, offering a 360-degree view of the area. "Show now where guards are located. Shows that the gates may open and close. Show how to enter and exit from buildings, "said Renuart. "I think that this is a real risk to the safety of our military installations."
The Pentagon reported promptly to the risks and Google expects full cooperation from the search engine to remove the vision of military installations from the Street View service. The collection of sensitive information relating to military bases however, is already contrary to policies adopted by the search engine . How is it possible that this happened? Google speaks of an error. "We have been contacted by the military," said Google spokesman Larry Yu, "and we accepted their demands in those areas in which they expressed complaints about the images.
